Mark is a PhD candidate in the Graduate Program in Neuroscience at UBC and is conducting research in the lab of Dr. Ruth Grunau. He studies neonatal stress/pain, its association with altered brain development, and its impact on cognition, learning, and memory as these neonates grow to be elementary school aged children.
