Dr. Buna graduated with her pharmacy degree in 1980 and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1995. She has practiced in the areas of geriatrics, palliative care, neurology, general medicine, and psychiatry. Presently she is Coordinator of Pharmacy Education and Practice Residency, which involves organizing and executing the Pharmacy Residency program and pharmacy staff development at Vancouver Island Health Authority. Her main clinical interest areas are geriatrics and pain management. She presently has a study on the impact of a breakthrough pain action plan on the use of breakthrough medications. She is also very interested in researching opioid tapering.
