2019 North American Cannabis Summit
January 28 - January 30, 2019
Dear colleagues,
The Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction is proud to announce the 2019 North American Cannabis Summit, hosted in partnership with Advocates for Human Potential (AHP), the University of California — Office of the President and UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs. It will be held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, California, from January 28–30.
The aim is to maintain the momentum of the U.S. 2017 National Cannabis Summit, convened by AHP, the Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network and the National Council for Behavioral Health. That summit was the first national forum on cannabis legalization and decriminalization, bringing together representatives from public health, research, regulatory agencies, law enforcement and community-based organizations to discuss surrounding issues relevant to the oversight and regulation of legal cannabis markets. Topics included the health effects of chronic consumption, cannabis-impaired driving and the treatment of cannabis use disorder. The proceedings are now available.
The 2019 North American Cannabis Summit expands the scope to encompass the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The summit is a unique opportunity to explore a wide array of objective, science-based perspectives on the decriminalization and legalization of cannabis across the continent.
A formal call for proposals is now available. See the summit’s official website.
